In the high-stakes, dark fantasy action game Gods Will Fall you will find your clan of eight warriors pitted against ten malicious gods and their hordes of zealous and twisted vassals. In order to survive the brutal and nightmarish realms of the gods and save humanity from their thrall you’ll need to learn more than just how to swing your weapons…
We worked with game studio Clever Beans and publisher Deep Silver to create the sound and music for the dark fantasy Gods Will Fall.
With a pick up and play combat style that is easy to learn but tough to master, a massive challenge awaits all who venture within and we wanted to reflect this with dynamic and immersive game audio.
The music in this game is amazing. It pushes up the value of the gameplay exponentially.
As huge fans of the fantasy genre and souls-like games, we were very excited to work with Clever Beans on this ambitious title. We conducted a thorough deep-dive into the genre before we began development. Examining the audio for games such as the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne, God of War and Hellblade. We really wanted to get under the hood of what drives an amazing fantasy gaming experience.
The generative difficulty of Gods Will Fall means every playthrough is completely unique. We designed our audio to reflect this with a fully dynamic audio system that reacts to player decisions, threat levels and game narrative.
WeMakeAudio brought a distinctive audio design to each of the diverse worlds of our game “Gods Will Fall”. With both music and bone-crunching, chain-clanking sound effects that created exactly the right spooky atmosphere we were looking for. No request was too much – they even created and recorded a unique Celtic-style language for our NPCs to speak.
Martin Turton, Clever Beans
Ten unique dungeons, ten ferocious Gods, 30 unique enemies, a rabble of Celtic warriors and an arsenal of melee weapons.
A huge amount of work goes into developing any game and we were responsible for every facet of Gods Will Fall’s audio production; from sound design, adaptive music scoring, audio implementation, casting and voice design to all of the games cutscenes.
A refreshing bit of audio.
