Hello! I’m Jamie Finlay — Award-winning Audio Director, Sound Designer, and Composer with 15+ years of experience across games, immersive media, and interactive projects. I’m passionate about crafting engaging, emotional, and immersive experiences through sound! Over the years, I’ve worked with some amazing organisations, including Sony PlayStation, Marvel, Disney, Adidas, Warner Interactive, LucasArts, and many more.

I’ve led audio on games like Gods Will Fall (Clever Beans), Filthy Lucre (Fabrik Games), and Outerstellar (Strange Horizons), and made key contributions to titles such as LEGO Batman 3, LEGO Dimensions (TT Games) and The Lost Bear (Fabrik Games). I’ve worked across mobile games, interactive educational projects, installations, and films for the likes of BBC, Channel 4, Nike and The National Trust.

Gods Will Fall

I was the Audio Director and Composer for Gods Will Fall — a stunning piece of dark fantasy crafted by Clever Beans and published by Deep Silver.

Having worked closely with Clever Beans for years, I was entrusted with full responsibility for the game's creative and technical audio direction. As part of a team of over 30 talented developers, I had the opportunity to help bring this brutal, beautiful world to life.

Some of the highlights for me included creating the otherworldly ambiences, designing fearsome creature sounds, and delivering bone-crunching combat effects. One of my favorite challenges was developing a completely original spoken language for the game.

You can dive deeper into that particular story here

“Jamie brought a distinctive audio design to each of the diverse worlds of our game “Gods Will Fall” that created exactly the right atmosphere we were looking for.”

- Martin Turton, Clever Beans

Fabrik Games

During my time at Fabrik Games I oversaw the creative and technical audio direction for their flagship title Filthy Lucre, a top-down, play- as-you-like heist game. I was fully responsible for the games audio aesthetic and delivery. From sound design, voice direction, and music to trailer design, implementation and optimisations.

We developed a fully reactive soundscape for Filthy Lucre, complete with radio stations and generative story lines that adapted as you unlocked the world. Not to mention a vertibale arsenal of weapons, gadgets and gizmos to help you loot your way through Londons gritty underworld.

Additionally I played a key role in the mesmerising game-within-a-game The Lost Bear for PSVR, providing dialogue design, music, ambient soundscapes and additional sound design.

“It’s a joy to work with Jamie. He’s always contributing new ideas and new techniques to get the results we want to achieve.”

My Work

I’ve worked across a broad range of projects in games, immersive experiences, and interactive design — from educational projects for the Open University and the BBC, to beloved IPs like Peppa Pig, interactive projects for Marvel, games powered by running machines for Nike, award-winning VR experiences, mobile games, indie gems, and AAA titles.

I've worked through every stage of development — from early concepting and prototyping, through to final mix, taking on roles including Audio Director, Sound Designer, and Composer.

This breadth of experience has given me a deep understanding of every level of game and interactive audio production.

Tech Skills

I have a wealth of expertise collaborating with multidisciplinary development teams as a senior audio professional. I have extensive experience with FMOD, Unity, Unreal Engine, Reaper, Pro Tools, Logic Pro and of a wide-range of plugins, tools and other bits and bobs.

In addition to my game audio work, I have a background in audio post-production for animation, short-form and long-form film. I specialise in mixing, editing, and mastering music to the highest of standards.

Awards, Mentoring & more…

Outside of game audio I work on interactive projects, film and music. Some of the projects I’ve contributed to have earned awards and recognition from institutions like the BFI London Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, ASCAP, FWA, and others — an incredible honour!

I’m also passionate about mentorship and have supported independent creatives and small businesses through organisations like Creative UK, offering guidance on both the creative and strategic sides.

In 2023, I hit a major personal milestone by releasing and touring my first solo album — definitely one of the highlights of my journey so far.
